Cradle Mountain is a must see if you visit the North West of Tasmania.
There so many walks to choose from.
You can choose easy 45 minutes walks all the way up to the bigger day walks. There are walks to suit every person’s level of fitness.
The best accommodation in Cradle Mountain, including Cradle Mountain Lodge, is of course very expensive. To stay up there for a cheaper price means staying in group accommodation huts which are very basic and require you to share a bathroom with others.
So a great way to do Cradle Mountain is to stay at Madsen Retreat in Penguin and leave around 7.30 am to arrive at the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre by 10 am. It’s Best Penguin Accommodation Tasmania. It is a very enjoyable drive and when you arrive you pick your walk and get taken to start of your walk in one of the shuttle buses that leave every 10-15 minutes.
The shuttle buses will also pick you up at the end of your walk and take you back to your car.
You will be tired at the end of the day and so you want to stay in comfortable 4-star visitor accommodation, enjoy a relaxing spa bath and comfortable beds.
That is what we offer.
The Madsen Retreat plus Cradle Mountain day walk is the perfect combination.
We can also get you booked on to a Cradle Mountain Day Tour if you wish with our partner Cradle Coast Tours. If you book through us you will get a 10% discount off the tour price.
